We all know that Electric Toothbrushes are more effective than your traditional toothbrush. But why? In a nutshell, ultrasonic waves emitted from the Sonic toothbrush (thousands of waves per second) remove plaque up to 4mm beyond the bristles of the brush, cleaning your teeth and gums far more efficiently and effectively than hand and bristle motion can achieve alone. Ultrasonic waves also render bacteria harmless upon contact, affording you a cleaner mouth and fresher breath.
Standard manual toothbrushes cannot get into every nook and cranny, leaving sections between your teeth where plaque can build up and eventually cause cavities, bad breath and various health issues. With the Pearlbar Sonic Toothbrush, ultrasonic waves reach beyond the bristle coverage area to clean spots other toothbrushes can’t penetrate, making it your toothbrush of choice for optimal dental hygiene and a pearly white smile.
Numerous studies on Sonic Toothbrushes have been conducted in recent times like this peer-reviewed study by the ‘National Library of Medicine’ in Washington, which clearly reflects the effectiveness and benefits of using a quality Sonic Toothbrush. Pearlbar has taken this amazing Sonic technology one step further by creating the world’s first Sonic Electric Toothbrush using a bamboo brush head in alignment with Pearlbar’s mission to produce quality products which are kind to us and our planet.
Your PearlBar Sonic Electric Toothbrush can’t do its best work without a superstar toothpaste, and most of the standard toothpaste brands out there are far more dangerous than you might realize. Did you know the lining of your mouth is 50 times more absorbent than your skin? Can you imagine how easily chemicals are absorbed into your body when using chemically-based brands of toothpaste (yes...that’s most brands found in your local drug store)? Many people have experienced the sudden onset of sensitive teeth when using chemically based whitening toothpastes.
As stated in this informative article titled ‘10 Biggest Causes of Tooth Sensitivity’ by Everyday Health: “Many manufacturers add whitening chemicals to their toothpaste formulas and some people are more sensitive to them than others. If your toothpaste contains (chemical) whitening agents, consider switching to one that doesn’t”.
This is why Pearlbar’s ‘Charcoal Natural Whitening Toothpaste’, which harnesses all the goodness of nature’s strongest whitening ingredients (like Binchotan Charcoal and Bentonite Clay), is a much healthier option for you to use in conjunction with the Pearlbar Sonic Toothbrush. So put down the chemicals and say goodbye to your standard plastic toothbrush. Choose your health, your smile, and your planet with PearlBar.

]]>Toothbrushes are one of the most frequently used tools in the world. As reported recently in One Green Planet, over 1 billion of them are thrown away every year in the US alone, equaling over 50 million pounds of landfill waste. A large amount of that waste ends up in our oceans.
According to National Geographic, plastic has so completely taken over toothbrush design that it is nearly impossible to clean our teeth without it. Since most plastics take over 100 years to break down, every plastic toothbrush since the 1930s is still present on this planet. It is clearly time for a change.
While most people are aware of the impact of plastic toothbrushes on the world and our oceans, they likely haven’t looked into the more specific (and scarier) effects of the plastic replacement brush heads used on electric toothbrush options.
Whereas most regular plastic brushes take 100 years or longer to break down, plastic electric toothbrush heads remain in landfills indefinitely. As these toothbrushes settle into the landfill, they release chemicals resulting in even more environmental pollution and lasting damage to a planet already experiencing toxic overload.
As you now know, plastic electric toothbrush heads are detrimental to the future of our environment and our planet.
What’s next? It’s time to change our choices. There are alternative options that will significantly reduce the damage our oral care routines cause the planet. PearlBar’s Bamboo Sonic Electric Toothbrush is an obvious solution, delivering an incredible clean with far less environmental impact.
PearlBar’s Bamboo brush heads are completely biodegradable, decomposing naturally in just 3-4 months. Keep in mind - It’s important to remember to remove the bristles (easily done with a pair of home pliers) of any electric toothbrush head before throwing it away.
If you are looking to make more eco-conscious decisions but don't know where to start, then start here. You’ll not only be making the right choice for your health, but also supporting a company with our planet’s health at its heart. Switch to PearlBar’s Bamboo Sonic Electric Toothbrush right away and both your pearls and the planet will thank you.

Konjac, which was first used in Japan as long as 800 years ago, is relatively new to the North American and Australian market. Initially, it was seen as a delicacy and was only available to the royal family in Japan. From there, only 100 years ago Konjac was introduced to the whole of Japan in a noodle form (naturally) and has grown in popularity and can now be consumed in many forms.
The latest edition of the Konjac family is the Facial Sponge that is becoming a popular and trendy product. Not only are these amazing for the biggest organ you have, your skin, but it is also biodegradable and vegan, thus making it just as good for your planet!
How Konjac sponges will help your skin:
So there you have it. Konjac + your skin = happy days We hope to have helped you understand more about the benefits of Konjac and why there is nothing better for your skin and planet.
Thanks to the incredible research in documentaries such as ‘That Sugar Film’ and ‘Forks Over Knives’, we now know sugar is a deadly and addictive devil. This seductive sweetener wreaks havoc on your body causing issues such as diabetes, heart disease, acne and depression, not to mention causing serious harm to our favourite thing about you - your beautiful smile.
Toothpaste dates back to 5000 BC when Egyptians used a paste for the same reason as today, to clean their teeth and freshen breath. While the ingredients have since improved, there is still a long way to go. Unfortunately, the toothpaste in your bathroom is likely to contain a damaging amount of sugar, causing harm to your teeth and the rest of your body.
According to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, on average, consumers already consume 17 teaspoons of sugar a day, feeding bad bacteria that lives in the mouth. The acid created by sugar erodes tooth enamel, leaving holes or cavities in its wake. Over 141 children (some even as young as 1 year old) are admitted to hospital every day to endure having teeth pulled, making this the most common reason for children to be admitted to hospital.
What’s the Solution?
Before purchasing any toothpaste, we encourage you to read the label. Avoid toothpastes that have sugar and/or sweeteners in them, which can be identified as Aspartame, Sorbitol and Saccharin (which, unfortunately can also be found in some natural toothpastes). We also recommend avoiding any toothpaste that has ingredients you have either never heard of,
or ones you cannot pronounce as these are likely harmful, but that is a story for another time.
An active ingredient we recommend for those in pursuit of pearly whites is activated charcoal. Activated charcoal has numerous benefits, attaching itself to the food and toxins left on your mouth to remove plaque and detoxify, along with getting rid of stains and other impurities.
A recent article in The Insider Magazine points out that activated charcoal has multiple oral health benefits in comparison to brands like Colgate, and we are pleased to report that not only is our toothpaste sugar-free, it’s packed with nature's strongest detoxifying, whitening and cleaning resource - charcoal.
With this information, we hope to help keep you and your family safe from the unknown inclusion and harmful effects of sugar, making your oral care game safe and simple. PearlBar’s Natural Whitening Toothpaste is a safer (and still delicious!) alternative with all natural ingredients, no sugar and powerful cleaning and whitening effects.

Whats St Kilda Mums? In a nutshell - local mums coming together for other local mums in need by gathering much needed resources that perhaps people like you and I assume are readily available for everyone. What a cause.
By collecting donations of pre-loved and new nursery equipment, cots, prams, car seats, clothes and oral care, (go team PearlBar!) these donations are distributed to Victorian families experiencing hardship through partnerships with maternal and child health nurses and local social service agencies.
In 2016 St Kilda Mums supported more than 7,383 local families, distributing more than 29,528 critical baby items. Demand for the service continues to grow rapidly which means right now there are still many new mum’s and bub's who still need our help.
If you would like to volunteer or donate, it could mean a big deal to some deserving people. To find out more info or get involved at http://www.stkildamums.org/ and help #makeachange for our community!

If you stop and think about it, we are constantly surrounded by plastic. As you are reading this blog, I am typing on a plastic keyboard, using a plastic mouse and (unfortunately) sitting on a plastic chair. Plastic is an epidemic – wrapped up in the food we eat, the water we drink, and contain the products we use everyday such as shampoo, detergent, and so forth.
FRANTIC ABOUT PLASTIC
According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA, 2006) BILLIONS of pounds of floating plastic drift for years before eventually concentrating in swirling convergences in the oceans making up about 40 percent of the world’s ocean surfaces! If you are not alarmed yet, you should be, because this waste does not break down!
Believe it or not, there is such a huge patch of plastic garbage in the ocean right now, which is twice the size of Texas – with plastic pieces outnumbering sea life six to one.
It is called The Great Pacific Garbage Patch (http://education.nationalgeographic.com/) and it’s located off the coast of California and is the largest ocean garbage site in the world.
THE BAMBOO BREAKTHROUGH
We are advised to change our toothbrush every 1-3 months by our dentists, which (if you’re not careful) is a very quick way to add to this current epidemic! Because of this, PearlBar has come up with a way to help you make a difference. Our Planet-loving Bamboo Toothbrush was born out of this desire to literally – get down to the roots of the problem.
Bamboo, which is what our toothbrush is made from, provides considerable environmental benefits. It is used for ecological purposes such as soil stabilization and erosion prevention on hill slopes and verges. It is a very important forestry plant which is harvested from existing natural forests, plantations, and mixed agricultural and forestry systems. (www.bamboonetwork.org/about-bamboo.html) In addition to this, it grows incredibly fast and there is LOTS of it!
WHAT’S THE POLL ON THE CHARCOAL?
I am very pleased to tell you that not only is PearlBar’s Bamboo Toothbrush 100% BIODEGRADABLE, it is also your best friend in fighting away those dark cavities with its Charcoal-Infused bristles.
There has been a lot of buzz lately about home remedies to help preserves those pearly whites – which can be confusing at times to ultimately settle on which product or method to try.
Thank goodness the University Of Michigan Health System (UMHS) has come out with an article outlining the medical effectiveness of activated charcoal for our resplendent human bodies.
In the article, they say “Charcoal used for health conditions is usually “activated” to make it a very fine powder, which increases its effectiveness. Activated charcoal can chemically attach, or adsorb, to a variety of particles and gases, which makes it ideal for removing potentially toxic substances from the digestive tract. Activated charcoal is not absorbed into the body, so it carries adsorbed substances out of the body by excrement.” Also, they made it a point to declare that “No other adverse side effects have been reported.” (http://www.uofmhealth.org/health-library/hn-5203004)
REGRESSION IS OUR SOLUTION
Virtually every piece of plastic that was ever made still exists in some shape or form (with the exception of the small amount that has been incinerated). PearlBar is asking you to give Mother Earth a break. Help stop this vicious plastic plague and help by switching to the world's most useful plant, the PearlBar Bamboo toothbrush.

With a background in Beauty Therapy and Cosmetic Teeth Whitening, Bridget Rose is the Founder of PearlBar, a Melbourne based enterprise, launching a pioneering product in the Oral Care Industry.
Still in her EARLY twenties, Bridget began her entrepreneurial explorations when she managed her own teeth whitening practice. “It’s not all smooth sailing when you start your own business – it’s a herculean, severe and backbreaking calling – and it’s on your mind every minute you’re awake.”
Having paved her way from the ground up, Bridget moved to Melbourne at the young age of 17, with only $300 to her name and an insatiable need to make her mark in the business world. Having endured countless road blocks, including failed business ventures, little financial support and next to no business or academic education, she began to wondering if being a young Entrepreneur was too much for her.
But optimistic as she is, Bridget began to think of other ways to turn her rough patch around to start fresh and invest in a passion she has had all along – Environmental Conservation and Social Responsibility.
She remarks, “We often neglect the small things, and fail to recognize our day to day contribution to our environment. In the day to day grind of getting up, going to work, doing our business and repeating the same thing over and over – we need to stop and think not just about earning money and spending it – but how we can better serve society in what ever way we can.”
So she thought of the skill sets that she has; the industry in which she knew her way around with the back of her hand – and came up with the notion of designing an environmentally friendly toothbrush that is 100% biodegradable, vegan and totally sustainable for adults and children.
Bridget wanted the toothbrush to not just be eco-friendly, she also wanted to make sure it was as effective as a regular toothbrush, if not better! After tons of research, she came across the ability of activated charcoal, which not only offers a better clean, but with its micro particles, turns our pearly whites radiantly bright! As well as this, also offers an antibacterial effect, odor and toxin absorbing and longer lasting freshness. And thus, the PearlBar Planet-loving Toothbrush with Charcoal-infused Bristles was born.
“This journey has been overwhelmingly filled with positive feedback from retailers, bloggers and customers from as far as America, Canada, Bali in Indonesia and of course, our own Oz. It’s beautiful! Its that sense of encouragement that keeps me going, and I am so grateful to feel apart of a better solution for our environment!” she exclaims, happily.
Further on she states, “I knew how much I cared about the environment, and I was sure others did too, so I decided to take that passion and run with it! With an added bonus of donating 10% of all sales to the my favorite charities, I now couldn't be happier with my business and the effect and relief it offers to Mother Nature!”
Young, determined and fearless, Bridget Rose believes being an Entrepreneur isn’t about age, education or overt devotion to making money that’s the key to success – it’s about wanting to truly better your chosen industry, being aware of what impact you want to make on your customers, and knowing how to help educate and empower others to do the same. She firmly believes in the power of positive intention, and knows that those who give onto are the ones who will attract big things!
